‘You know what?? My BEST EVER Valentines Day was spent in a hospital with a complete stranger!

A few years back, i was doing some last minute Valentines shopping for my hubby when I got chatting to a sweet old lady who was upset that this was to be her very first Valentines Day without her late husband in over 50 years.

We chatted for almost an hour, when she started looking very sweaty and pale. I called an ambulance for her as she was really worrying me, and i texted hubby saying that I wouldn’t be home for a while and told him what had happened.

I went to the hospital with this lady, I later found out her name was Anne, and i stayed with her while she was assessed and admitted.. It turned out she had a weak heart and often had these episodes..

We exchanged stories about our Valentines, and as it was only us, and it WAS Valentines day I went to the vending machine, grabbed a couple of chocolates, and a couple of hot chocolates and went back to her room and celebrated with her. I had an amazing time, I had to leave her at the end of visiting hours, so I picked up takeaway for hubby and I to enjoy together..

I visited her each day she was in hospital and am happy to say that i still see her regularly. She is my Nan now and my kids Great Nan. I am so happy to have met her and will always fondly remember our first Valentines day together..’
