Publisher Description

A brand new Poirot omnibus, featuring four of the world-renowned detective's most challenging cases: Three-Act Tragedy, Sad Cypress, Evil Under the Sun and The Hollow The 1930s and 40s were dangerous times. Wherever he went, Hercule Poirot was followed by death — but not death of the personal, intimate kind. With all this killing, he sometimes wondered if anyone knew there was a common enemy! Three-Act Tragedy At an apparently respectable dinner party, a vicar is the first to die...Sad Cypress An elderly stroke victim dies intestate...Evil Under the Sun A beautiful woman is strangled to death on a remote beach...The Hollow A young doctor is shot in broad daylight by his jealous wife...

Author Biography

Agatha Christie was born in Torquay in 1890 and became, quite simply, the best-selling novelist in history. Her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, written towards the end of the First World War, introduced us to Hercule Poirot, who was to become the most popular detective in crime fiction since Sherlock Holmes. She is known throughout the world as the Queen of Crime. Her books have sold over a billion copies in the English language and another billion in over 100 foreign languages. She is the author of 80 crime novels and short story collections, 19 plays, and six novels under the name of Mary Westmacott.
