March Well known Australian author and journalist Geraldine Brooks tells the tale of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women through the eyes of Mr. March. While his wife Marmee and his daughters were depicted as saccharine sweet in Little Women, March tells of an ugly time in American history, the U.S civil war. It is gritty and realistic and sheds a completely different light on the March family and their politics. Enjoyable to read for both men and women with an attention to historical detail based on careful research.
