Great book. Beyond is an interesting character and the plot is great. It really gives us a good back story for Naomi and L, and they're both very well portrayed in this spin-off novel. I first came across reference to Beyond Birthday in the fandom, and was curious to find out more about him. The book kept up with all my expectations and was a very enjoyable read. It gives us a look into the minds of the Whammy Boys, and how stressed they become attempting to surpass L. All in all it was a brilliant book that works very well with the timeline of the original Death Note series. The author shows an amazing grasp of the character's personalitys and has managed to introduce an original character so seamlessly that no-one questions it. I would definately recommend it for all Death Note fans.
