About the Author

Alice Pung (Author)Alice Pung is an award-winning, internationally published Melbourne writer whose books include the memoirs Unpolished Gem and Her Father's Daughter and the young adult novel Laurinda. Alice contributed four stories, 'Meet Marly', for the children's series Our Australian Girl. She is the editor of the anthology Growing Up Asian in Australia and My First Lesson. Her collected nonfiction is published in the volume Close to Home and she has written a book on John Marsden in the 'Writers on Writers' series. Alice is a frequent visiting author to primary and secondary schools around Australia, and an ambassador to the 100 Story Building.Lucia Masciullo (Illustrator)Lucia Masciullo grew up in Livorno, Tuscany. She moved to Australia in 2007 and since then she has been happily working as an illustrator. She has illustrated more than 20 books, among which are the CBCA Honour Book and Prime Minister Award short-listed Come Down, Cat! by Sonya Hartnett, and the Our Australian Girl series. She now lives on the Gold Coast.
