Description

Children always seem to have dozens of questions about life, the world and everything around them.

For Christian parents it's sometimes hard to formulate Biblical answers to questions kids ask about God and what it means to be a Christian. Often parents can feel quite overwhelmed when it comes to finding just the right answer to help their child grow in Christ.

"Hey God, can I ask you something?" is a brand-new easy to read question-and-answer style book for children and their parents, designed to provide Biblical answers to many of the general questions primary school aged children ask about God, Jesus, and the authenticity of the Bible.

Each chapter tackles a new question like "Hey God, who are you really?"; "Dear God, how do I talk to you?"; "Excuse me God, was Jesus just make believe or was he a real person?"; and "Um, God, what if I'm scared of dying?"

"Hey God, can I ask you something?" not only provides primary aged school aged children with answers grounded in Scripture, it's also an excellent resource for parents, grandparents, schoolteachers, and Scripture teachers to work through with their kids.

Each chapter of "Hey God, can I ask you something?" ends with a quirky 'Did you know?' factoid to help further illuminate each chapter.

Critic Reviews

"Jesus said 'let the little children come to me.' Books like 'Hey God, can I ask you something?' can help provide easy-to-read, biblical answers when our young ones ask questions about Jesus, God, and the Bible.

Providing our kids with biblical answers to their questions not only helps build in them a firm foundation of faith, it also strengthens their resolve to follow Jesus, especially in a world that tells them they shouldn't." - The Most Rev. Dr R.H. Goodhew AO, Retired Archbishop of Sydney and Metropolitan of NSW.

"As a parent, managing a fulltime job and balancing the challenges of family life can be tough at times. When my kids ask questions about the fundamentals of Christianity it's often hard to find the headspace to try and provide an answer. 'Hey God, can I ask you something?' is a very accessible book that parents, and their children can work through to find Biblical answers to some of the common questions kids ask." - Amy Brown, Chief Operating Officer, Christian Education Ministries.

"This book is perfect for children who have big questions for God, and it has a lot of information that I didn't know before but I do know now. Also, the cover is really pretty." - Mary Neal, age 10.

About the Author

Brad Emery grew up with two heroes: his dad, the Reverend John Emery, who travelled to some of the most dangerous corners of the globe to teach people about Jesus; and his mum, Robyn, who was the glue that held their family together.Growing up in a Christian home, Brad was lucky to have parents who were both very knowledgeable, and who also possessed an extensive library to help answer his many questions about God, His Son and the 'whys and wherefores' of the world around us.However, when Brad became a parent himself, he realised that not all Christian parents had such resources at their disposal.Brad also found it a struggle to find Christian literature designed to provide primary school aged children with Biblical answers to some of the common questions that arise out of the Bible. Helping to provide answers to questions about God, His world and His amazing plan to reconcile us to Himself has never been more important and with the support of close friends, Brad decided to write "Hey God, can I ask you something?"Brad is a professional writer who brings more than two decades of writing experience in the fields of media relations, industry, and politics to his personal writing projects. Brad is a contracted writer with The Sydney Morning Herald and over the last two decades, has had dozens of articles published in Christian publications such as Eternity and Southern Cross, as well as secular publications such as The Huffington Post, 10Daily and Investor Weekly.Brad lives in Sydney with his wife Renee and their daughter Willow. They attend The Bridge Church, Neutral Bay NSW, Australia. Tiarne came to know Jesus as a teenager through school scripture (SRE) and now attends the Anglican Parish of Lithgow with her husband, Scott, and their three children, Theo, Norah, and Edie.Tiarne currently works as a primary school Teacher-Librarian, where she enjoys sharing her love of children's books and illustrations. From a young age, Tiarne found joy in being creative, particularly through painting with watercolors and engaging in graphic design. These passions naturally aligned when she was given the opportunity to illustrate "Hey God, can I ask you something?"Combining her love of art with her desire to share God's truth, Tiarne enjoyed creating illustrations that appeal to children and help them explore Biblical concepts in a visually engaging way. Tiarne feels incredibly grateful and humbled that God might use her gifts in this way.Tiarne lives in Lithgow with her family, continuing to create art that inspires and encourages in pockets of spare time.
