A magical rhyming retelling of five of Rudyard Kipling's much-loved Just So Stories.

Publisher Description

Delightfully retold in humorous verse, with beautiful illustrations throughout, this is a beautiful reworked edition of Rudyard Kipling's children's classic, Just So Stories. In this stunning illustrated collection meet the cat who walked by himself, discover how the lazy camel got his hump, how the elephant got his long trunk, find out why the rhino has such wrinkly skin and how the whale got his teeny tiny throat.

These well known, richly imagined stories tell of how the world came to be as it is. This is a smart, funny and younger approach to Kipling's work, and Just So Stories as you've never seen them before.

Author Biography

Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was named after the Staffordshire reservoir near Leek beside which his parents became engaged. He was born in India, and spent the first six years of his life there, acquiring Hindustani as a second language and living in a bungalow like that in The Jungle Book.

Elli Woollard has written The Giant of Jum and The Dragon and the Nibblesome Knight for Macmillan, as well as the young fiction series Swashbuckle Lil.

Marta Altes is the award-winning creator of My Grandpa, I am an Artist!, My New Home and The King Cat.
