About the Author
Sophie has had more than 50 novels published in Australia and internationally, mostly for young adults and children, but also for adults. Much of her work for children and young adults has been in the fantasy genre, but she has also written ghost stories, mysteries, thrillers, family stories and a graphic novel.
Sophie's books have won many awards including the CBCA Award, NSW Premier's Literary Award and the Aurealis Award for Science Fiction and Fantasy.
In 2019, Sophie was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her significant service to literature as an author and publisher, and through her roles with industry organisations.

Ruth creates her illustrations in collage entirely by hand; painting, cutting and layering paper to make bright and playful images. Ruth has been shortlisted for the World Illustration Award 2019, children's book category. In 2018, Ruth's debut author-illustrator picture book Not So Scary Bear was published by Windy Hollow Books. Not So Quiet Mouse will be published in August 2019. Ruth's first picture book with Little Hare There's a Tiger Out There will be published July 2019.
