PRODUCT INFORMATION

Description

Publisher Description In the landscapes of Wolf Kahn (American, b. Germany 1927), vivid, improbable, yet harmonic colors awaken powerful sensory delightsthe sensation of sun on the back of ones neck, the scent of chlorophyll or hay dust, the cool shade of the forest understory, the crackling sound of autumn leaves shaken by a breeze, the tranquility of an empty meadow or woodlot. Kahn has been honored with Fulbright and Guggenheim fellowships, and his work is found in the permanent collections of many great museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. A quartet of Kahns landscapes, evoking the four seasons, have been chosen for this notecard collection.

Author Biography Wolf Kahn is based in New York but also teaches master classes in painting and pastels throughout the country. Abrams has published two previous books on his work: Wolf Kahn, a monograph by the art critic Justin Spring, and Wolf Kahn Pastels, a series of musings on the art of pastel written by the artist himself.
