Working together to support our online community

As a community, we are facing an unprecedented challenge with the spread of COVID-19 and we wanted to provide you with an update as to what we are doing to keep you, our customers and our staff safe during this time.

As an online business we’re working around the clock to make sure that you can get your orders as quickly as possible whilst keeping deliveries safe.

This includes drivers conducting contactless deliveries and adhering to hygiene precautions as advised by local government and health authorities.

NSW-Victoria update

NSW will close its border to Victorians as the state goes back to stage 3 lockdown. Freight services (road & air) are still able to cross the border into Victoria, however we do expect some delays during this period.

Safety and hygiene for staff and customers

While we have always had strict hygiene practices and cleanliness standards, we have implemented additional precautionary measures.

Here is what we are doing to reduce the risk:

  • Promote good hand hygiene and provide hand sanitisers for all our staff. Additionally our team are wearing gloves to pack your precious orders.​
  • We are regularly cleaning and disinfecting shared high-touch surfaces.
  • We have implemented social distancing during shifts and lunch breaks.
  • We have implemented a split shift policy in order to;
    • reduce the number of staff in our distribution centre at any one time
    • reduce the likelihood of transmission between team members on the same shift
    • reduce the number of staff directly impacted should any one member fall ill
  • The Nile is actively supporting staff members who are feeling unwell to ensure they only return to work once they have a clean bill of health.

Although we are working hard to minimise the impact on your shopping experience, there is a possibility that we will encounter delays or disruptions in availability of stock. We are working on a number of contingencies to ensure we can operate smoothly and get you everything you need without the need to leave the comfort and safety of your home.

In the midst of all the uncertainty and panic, we encourage everyone to adopt a spirit of cooperation and kindness. We hope that you and your families continue to stay safe during these challenging times.
