Barbara Dreaver

Barbara Dreaver was born in Kiribati and moved to Aotearoa at age ten, later studying arts and journalism before reporting across the Pacific, exposing government scandals. She has worked for New Zealand Listener, National Business Review, Radio New Zealand, and has been TVNZ’s Pacific correspondent since 2003. Her award-winning work includes coverage of the Samoan measles outbreak, earning her Reporter of the Year in 2022 and an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2024.
