Claire Mabey

Claire Mabey is a writer, books editor at The Spinoff, and founder of Verb Wellington and LitCrawl Wellington. Her middle-grade novels The Raven's Eye Runaways and its sequel The Raven's Eye Rebellion explore magic, friendship, and family secrets, and her first picture book Cass and the Beast is out in September 2026. Claire also reviews books for RNZ and podcasts, writes a Substack newsletter, and lives on the South Coast of Te Whanganui-a-Tara with her child Charlie.
