Summary

A wacky classic in paperback for the first time ever!

A funny, finger-wagging rhyme with some very good advice—never tease a weasel, because teasing isn’t nice! Rather, kids should do nice things for animals, such as bake a drake a cake, or give a mule a pool, and much more.

Long out of print, this new edition of Never Tease a Weasel with art by the great New Yorker cartoonist George Booth will surely please a weasel, and everyone else who reads it!

About The Author

Jean Conder Soule

Jean Conder Soule (1925-2008) was a well-known poet and author of children’s books. Mrs. Soule began as an editorial assistant at the National Education Association in Washington, D.C., and also worked as an instructor for the Institute of Children’s Literature later in life. Never Tease a Weasel was first published in 1964 with illustrations by Denman Hampson.

George Booth (1926-2022) From 1969 on, cartoonist George Booth’s illustrations were an iconic feature of the New Yorker magazine. One of his most beloved characters was a zany bull terrier. He also illustrated the classic Dr. Seuss book, Wacky Wednesday. Mr. Booth’s madcap style was particularly suited to reillustrate Never Tease a Weasel.
