Fiona Raising Literacy Australia
Fiona’s interest in paper began while she was studying a Bachelor of Arts at Uni SA 1989-1992.
Majoring in textiles allowed her to explore the many ways in which paper can be made, used and manipulated.
This fascination has continued and developed into making picture books. Starting with black and white paper cutouts for My First Shapes has allowed her to open a new way of illustrating she had not explored before. By cutting layering and collaging and adding colour and pattern the possibilities are endless.
