About The Author

Patrick Loughlin

Patrick Loughlin is a part-time children’s author and full-time high school English teacher who lives in Western Sydney with his family and crazy old sock-stealing spoodle, Flash.

He is the author of the Football High series and Super Sports Stories for Kids. He has also authored the Billy Slater Rugby League series and the Glenn Maxwell Cricket series.

Billy Slater played for the Melbourne Storm for sixteen seasons in the NRL and was an Australian International and Queensland State of Origin representative fullback. He played his whole NRL career at Melbourne, winning four Grand Finals, two Clive Churchill Medals, and the Dally M Medal before his retirement from the sport in 2018. He lives in Melbourne with his wife, Nicole, and their two children, Tyla and Jake.

Nahum is a freelance illustrator and sports graphic designer, with work spanning across multiple disciplines, from advertising, book publishing, storyboard art, and environment design for both TV and film, to professional sports branding and athlete logos. His passion for drawing started at a very early age, with artistic parents who nurtured his creative skills. Always proud to reflect on his childhood years growing up in the Clare Valley, he is now a well-established illustrator in the Adelaide (and national) creative scene. Nahum is a big fan of comics, sport, and pop culture, and these themes continue to inspire and push his creative output.
