About The Author

Mary Borsky

Mary Borsky is from High Prairie, Alberta. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta and went on to teach in Edmonton, Vancouver, and Frobisher Bay, as well as in Italy and Ethiopia. Borsky is the author of the first two books in the Benny Bensky series, Benny Bensky and the Perogy Palace and Benny Bensky and the Giant Pumpkin Heist. Her fiction has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies, and her adult short story collections, Influence of the Moon and Cobalt Blue are critically acclaimed. In 2006, The New Quarterly magazine named Mary Borsky one of “the best-loved living Canadian writers.” Mary Borsky lives in Ottawa.Linda Hendry has illustrated and/or written over fifty children’s books, including the Benny Bensky series. In 1986, she was short-listed for the Governor General’s Literary Award for her illustration ofThe Queen Who Stole the Sky. In 2001, her book Priscilla and Rosy, written by Sharon Jennings, received the Mr. Christie’s Silver Medal. Linda Hendry lives with her family near Rockwood, Ontario.
