What They're Saying
Critics Review
“Incisive … American Hope combines background with predictions, lacing both together with a strong narrative and mastery of Vatican politics as well as theology … The influence of Lamb’s day job, as CNN’s Vatican correspondent, can be seen here in the ease with which he places the Pope in a global context, not least in comparing him with US president Donald Trump and his VP, Catholic convert JD Vance.” – Catherine Pepinster * The Telegraph *
About The Author
Christopher Lamb
Christopher Lamb is CNN’s Vatican Correspondent. He covered the funeral of Pope Francis and the conclave that elected Pope Leo XIV. He has been a journalist for two decades, starting as a reporter for the Daily Telegraph where he worked on the newspaper’s diary column, a role that tasked him with breaking stories from the world of politics, showbusiness, royalty and the arts. As a Vatican reporter, he seeks to combine journalistic instincts with his understanding of theology and religion. Lamb studied theology at the University of Durham and worked for several years at The Tablet, a Catholic publication. His first book, The Outsider, lifted a lid on the resistance Pope Francis faced in his battle to reform the Catholic Church. He is based in CNN’s Rome and London bureaux.
