Saadia Faruqi
Born in Pakistan, Saadia Faruqi moved to the United States at age 22. She is the author of the popular Yasmin series and middle-grade novels like Yusuf Azeem Is Not A Hero. Oprah Magazine recognized her as a woman making a difference in her community. In addition to writing children’s books, Saadia enjoys reading, binge-watching her favorite shows, and taking naps. She resides in Houston with her family.
Shadia Amin
Shadia Amin is a Colombian comic artist based in Georgia. She holds a Master’s Degree in Sequential Art from SCAD. Her notable works include Shiny Misfits, Aggretsuko, and Spider-Ham, as well as collaborations on anthologies such as When I Was Young and Alloy: Electrum. She earned both her BFA and MFA in Sequential Art from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her art is characterized by slice-of-life and fantasy themes, infused with joy and heartfelt moments.
