• Stan Lee (1922-2018): Writer and editor who co-created Fantastic Four with Jack Kirby, marking a new era in comic books. He went on to develop iconic characters like the Hulk, X-Men, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange with various artists, maintaining editorial control over his creations and helping expand Marvel into a multimedia empire. He later became widely recognized for his cameo appearances in Marvel films.

• Jack Kirby (1917-1994): Born Jacob Kurtzberg, Kirby was a pioneering artist who came of age with the comic book industry. Alongside Joe Simon, he created Captain America. After a period exploring other genres, Kirby revolutionized superhero comics with his dynamic artwork for Fantastic Four #1, co-created with Stan Lee. He was instrumental in introducing many foundational Marvel characters, including the Avengers, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Silver Surfer, and X-Men. Kirby later worked for DC Comics before returning to Marvel, where he introduced concepts like the Eternals. His work also extended to television animation.

• Bill Everett: Created Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner, comics’ original anti-hero. Everett was a skilled artist in horror and war comics and a top artist for Timely Comics. He was brought back by Stan Lee during the Marvel Age to co-create Daredevil and revive his creation, the Sub-Mariner.

• John Buscema (1927-2002): A prolific Marvel artist and co-author of How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way. Buscema’s career began in the Timely/Atlas era. He joined the Marvel Bullpen during the Marvel Age and worked on titles such as Avengers, the first Silver Surfer series, Fantastic Four, and Thor. He is also known for his work on Conan the Barbarian.
