About The Author

Brian Michael Bendis

Brian Michael Bendis is an award-winning comic-book creator and one of the most successful writers in the industry. His acclaimed work includes runs on Daredevil, a renaissance for the Avengers franchise, and major event projects such as House of M, Secret War, Secret Invasion, Siege, Age of Ultron, and Civil War II. Bendis wrote every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man from its launch in 1999 and introduced Miles Morales to the Marvel Universe. He also spearheaded Marvel’s mutants in All-New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, launched Guardians of the Galaxy, shook up the world of Tony Stark in Invincible Iron Man, introducing Riri Williams as Ironheart, and assembled street-level heroes in Defenders. His creator-owned projects include Scarlet, Brilliant, Takio, and the Eisner Award-winning Powers.

Jason Aaron is a critically acclaimed writer whose early collaboration on DC/Vertigo’s The Other Side was named one of the Washington Post’s Best Comics of 2007. His subsequent series, Scalped, garnered industry-wide praise and led to his association with Wolverine and Marvel’s mutants on titles like X-Men: Schism, Wolverine & the X-Men, and Amazing X-Men. Aaron has also made significant contributions to the Marvel Universe with Original Sin, an Asgardian epic across multiple Thor titles, and ushering in new eras for Star Wars, Avengers, Marvel Legacy, and Conan the Barbarian.

Ed Brubaker is a multiple Eisner Award-winning writer known for his acclaimed runs on Scene of the Crime, Sleeper, Catwoman, and Gotham Central. His relaunch of Captain America, which controversially revived Bucky Barnes as the Winter Soldier, was a fan favorite. Brubaker also revised the history of Marvel’s mutants in X-Men: Deadly Genesis and took over Uncanny X-Men. He collaborated with Michael Lark on Daredevil and with Matt Fraction and David Aja on Immortal Iron Fist. Brubaker’s creator-owned works, Criminal and Incognito, were published by Marvel’s Icon imprint, and he has since achieved further success at Image Comics with titles like Fatale, Velvet, and The Fade Out. Beyond comics, he has written for TV’s Westworld and co-created the crime drama Too Old to Die Young.

Jonathan Hickman is an award-winning writer and artist known for his critically acclaimed independent titles Pax Romana, Transhuman, and The Nightly News. He launched Marvel’s Secret Warriors and wrote the revered runs on Fantastic Four and FF, as well as two S.H.I.E.L.D. series. Hickman penned numerous Ultimate Universe titles before bringing his intricate plotting to Avengers and New Avengers, culminating in the universe-shattering Secret Wars. His impressive creator-owned credits include East of West, Secret, and the Eisner Award-nominated The Manhattan Projects. Hickman returned to Marvel to mastermind a transformative relaunch of its mutant titles, beginning with House of X and Powers of X, and continuing with X-Men.

John Romita Jr. is a modern-day comic-art master whose work on Iron Man, Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man, and Daredevil established him as a distinctive artist. His contributions to Wolverine and World War Hulk are considered among the most explosive comic art of the 21st century. Romita Jr. collaborated with Neil Gaiman on Eternals and with Mark Millar on the creator-owned Kick-Ass. He later returned to Amazing Spider-Man, helped relaunch Avengers with Brian Michael Bendis, and contributed to Avengers vs. X-Men. For DC Comics, he has drawn characters such as Superman, Batman, and the Suicide Squad.

Olivier Coipel caught the attention of Avengers fans with his fresh and exciting stories, followed by a star turn on the blockbuster limited series House of M. He illustrated J. Michael Straczynski’s Thor, restoring the grandeur of Asgard, and reunited with Brian Michael Bendis for the Marvel mega-event Siege. His subsequent credits include returns to Thor, as well as contributions to Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men, and Avengers vs. X-Men.

Adam Kubert, son of industry pioneer Joe Kubert, has won numerous comics-industry achievement awards, including an Eisner Award. His landmark runs on Wolverine and Incredible Hulk propelled him to superstardom, leading to work on X-Men titles, including the Marvel Universe-changing Onslaught saga. His subsequent efforts for Marvel include revisiting Wolverine in Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine and Origin II. Kubert was part of the artistic lineup for Avengers vs. X-Men and has since worked on All-New, All-Different Avengers, Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man, and Captain America. In 2020, he made a triumphant return to his signature character for the Dawn of X relaunch of Wolverine.
