Howard Mackie began his career at Marvel in the late 1980s as an editor before transitioning to writing. His early work as a full-time scribe included the popular 1990 series Ghost Rider, which introduced the Danny Ketch alter ego. He also contributed extensively to Spider-Man and X-Men titles throughout the 1990s.

John Byrne has been a fixture in the comics industry as both writer and artist since 1975. After an initial collaboration with Chris Claremont on Iron Fist, Byrne and Claremont penned a highly acclaimed run on X-Men. Byrne also had a notable tenure on Fantastic Four, earning comparisons to the original Lee/Kirby issues for his innovative storytelling and dynamic art. He later spun Alpha Flight into its own series. In 1986, he reimagined DC’s Superman, a project recognized by Time magazine. Byrne’s extensive Marvel contributions include celebrated runs on Captain America, Iron Man, Sensational She-Hulk, Namor the Sub-Mariner, and Thing. His 21st-century work includes IDW’s Star Trek and Angel.

Kieron Dwyer has worked as a professional comic book artist since the late 1980s, with additional work in film, television, books, and advertising. He co-created the animated series Swing Town, taught at the Academy of Art College, and produced storyboards for projects like Batman Beyond. His artwork was featured in the film Sky High. Dwyer’s Marvel credits include a long run penciling Captain America, shorter stints on Avengers and Thing, and contributions to titles such as Avengers Spotlight, Classic X-Men, Deadpool/GLI: Summer Fun Spectacular, Solo Avengers, and X-Factor. His DC projects include Action Comics and Batman. He has also co-created independent comics such as Night Mary, Remains, Last of the Independents, and Sea of Red.

Al Milgrom, known as “Editori-Al,” is recognized as a writer, editor, penciler, and inker, often holding multiple roles on Spectacular Spider-Man and contributing to Amazing Spider-Man. He penciled West Coast Avengers for four years and inked X-Factor for eight. His artwork has also appeared in Avengers, Captain America, Thor, and various X-Men titles, including the classic Kitty Pryde and Wolverine. As an editor, he oversaw Marvel’s Epic imprint and the sixty-issue run of Marvel Fanfare. He co-created Firestorm the Nuclear Man with Gerry Conway for DC.

Don Heck (1929-1995) worked for various publishers before joining Atlas Comics (later Marvel), where he illustrated extensively across genres. With Stan Lee and others, he co-created Iron Man, his supporting cast, and early villains like the Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Mandarin. He also succeeded Jack Kirby on Avengers. For DC, his artwork appeared in Justice League of America, Flash, and Wonder Woman.

Dwayne Turner’s early Marvel work included Avengers Spotlight and Transformers before he launched the 1990s series Cage and collaborated with Don McGregor on the limited series Black Panther: Panther’s Prey. Turner has illustrated several of Todd McFarlane’s Spawn titles, including a lengthy run on Curse of the Spawn. He has since worked extensively in the video game and film industries, with credits on Tron: Legacy, The Jungle Book, and the Halo franchise.
