Jonathan Hickman
Jonathan Hickman is an award-winning writer and artist known for his critically acclaimed independent titles such as Pax Romana, Transhuman, and The Nightly News. He launched Marvel’s Secret Warriors with writer Brian Michael Bendis, following this with the Dark Reign: Fantastic Four limited series. He went on to write revered runs on Fantastic Four and FF, as well as two S.H.I.E.L.D. series.
Hickman penned numerous Ultimate Universe titles before bringing his intricate plotting to Avengers and New Avengers. His extensive planning culminated in the Marvel Universe-shattering Secret Wars. His impressive creator-owned credits include a trio of lauded series for Image Comics: East of West, Secret, and the Eisner Award-nominated The Manhattan Projects. Hickman later returned to Marvel to mastermind a transformative relaunch of its mutant titles, beginning with House of X and Powers of X, and continuing with X-Men.
Stefano Caselli is an Italian illustrator who broke into American comics in the early 2000s with work on titles such as Marvel’s Mutant X and Thunderbolts. He enhanced his reputation on series like Avengers: The Initiative, Secret Warriors, and Avengers Assemble. He played a key role on the rotating art team for Dan Slott’s Amazing Spider-Man and joined Jonathan Hickman on Avengers. Caselli collaborated with Brian Michael Bendis on a groundbreaking Invincible Iron Man run featuring Riri Williams and joined Gerry Duggan on the X-series Marauders.
Mike Deodato Jr. was a renowned illustrator in his native Brazil before his big break in American comics in 1994, illustrating DC’s Wonder Woman. For Marvel, he drew series such as Avengers, Elektra, Spider-Man, and Incredible Hulk. After refining his style on the creator-owned Jade Warriors, he returned to Marvel for a second run on Incredible Hulk and a stint on J. Michael Straczynski’s Amazing Spider-Man. Deodato has forged a strong association with the Avengers on various titles, collaborating with writers like Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker, and Jonathan Hickman, and demonstrated his superstar status on the event book Original Sin. He joined writer Jeff Lemire in exploring one of Marvel’s greatest villains in Thanos.
Kev Walker honed his skills at the British comics magazine 2000 AD, eventually moving on to the publisher’s flagship character Judge Dredd and other popular series. After illustrating Annihilation: Nova, Walker teamed with writer Fred Van Lente on Marvel Zombies 3 and 4. He also drew Thunderbolts before joining Dennis Hopeless in Avengers Arena and its follow-up Avengers Undercover. Walker has worked on numerous other Avengers titles, the Star Wars series Doctor Aphra, Dr. Strange, and the high-profile launch of Predator at Marvel Comics.
