Brian Michael Bendis
Brian Michael Bendis is an award-winning comic-book creator and one of the most successful writers in the industry. His work includes an acclaimed run on Daredevil, a renaissance for Marvel’s Avengers franchise, and event projects such as House of M, Secret War, Secret Invasion, Siege, Age of Ultron, and Civil War II.
Bendis wrote every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man from its launch in 2000, later introducing Miles Morales, a multiracial Spider-Man, to the Marvel Universe. He also wrote All-New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, revitalized Guardians of the Galaxy, and explored Tony Stark’s world in Invincible Iron Man, introducing Riri Williams as Ironheart. He assembled street-level heroes in Defenders, featuring Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil, and his co-creation Jessica Jones.
His creator-owned projects include Scarlet with Alex Maleev, Brilliant with Mark Bagley, Takio, and the Eisner Award-winning Powers with Michael Avon Oeming.
Alex Maleev
Alex Maleev, born in Bulgaria, won the Russ Manning Award for Best New Talent in 1997. He first collaborated with Brian Michael Bendis on Image’s Sam & Twitch. Their partnership continued with Daredevil in 2001, a gritty and acclaimed collaboration that earned them an Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series in 2003.
Maleev has illustrated numerous projects with Bendis, including New Avengers: Illuminati, Civil War: The Confession, Secret Invasion: Dark Reign one-shots, the Halo: Uprising limited series, the Spider-Woman print and motion comics, and the creator-owned Scarlet. They also worked together on International Iron Man and its successor series Infamous Iron Man.
