Howard Mackie
Howard Mackie
Howard Mackie began his career at Marvel in the late 1980s as an editor before transitioning to writing. His early work as a full-time writer included the highly popular 1990 series Ghost Rider, which introduced the character of Danny Ketch. Mackie also contributed extensively to various Spider-Man and X-Men titles throughout the 1990s.
Erik Larsen
After his time at AC Comics and Eclipse, Erik Larsen took over Amazing Spider-Man from Todd McFarlane, quickly establishing himself with his unique artistic vision. He chronicled Spider-Man’s transformations, including his cosmic-powered and powerless periods. Larsen’s other Marvel credits include Defenders, Fantastic Four, Nova, and Wolverine. For DC Comics, he has worked on Doom Patrol, Outsiders, and Teen Titans. Larsen is perhaps best known as the creator of Savage Dragon at Image Comics, where he was also a co-founder and served as publisher for four years.
John Romita Jr.
John Romita Jr. is a celebrated modern comic book artist, following in the legacy of his father. His influential runs on Iron Man, Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man, and Daredevil solidified his artistic reputation. His work on Wolverine and World War Hulk is noted for its dynamic and explosive style. Alongside writer Neil Gaiman, he worked on Eternals, and with Mark Millar, he created the creator-owned series Kick-Ass, which was later adapted into a successful film. Romita Jr. returned to Amazing Spider-Man for storylines like “Brand New Day,” “New Ways To Die,” and “Character Assassination.” He also contributed to the relaunch of Avengers with Brian Michael Bendis and Captain America with Rick Remender, as well as the crossover event Avengers vs. X-Men. His DC Comics work includes assignments on major characters like Superman, Batman, and the Suicide Squad before his return to Marvel.
Joe Bennett
Brazilian artist Joe Bennett made his Marvel debut on Ravage 2099. He subsequently illustrated Image Comics’ Supreme before returning to Marvel to work on Nova, X-51, and The Crew. Bennett has also contributed to Captain America, Amazing Spider-Man, and Thor. He has had an extensive career at DC Comics, including work on the series 52. His contributions to Immortal Hulk garnered significant critical acclaim.
