T.F. Muir
T.F. Muir is the author of the bestselling contemporary crime series set in St. Andrews, Scotland, featuring DCI Andy Gilchrist. The first in the series, Eye for an Eye, won the Scottish Association of Writers’ Pitlochry Award in 2004 for the best crime novel by an unpublished writer.
Born in Scotland, Muir was plagued from a young age with the urge to see more of the world than the rain-soaked slopes of the Campsie Fells. By the time he graduated from university, he had already held more jobs than the River Clyde has bends, including bartender, farmhand, postman, laundry van driver, lumberjack, labourer, and surveyor.
Over thirty years of living and working overseas helped Muir appreciate the raw beauty of his home country. Now a dual US/UK citizen, Muir has returned to Scotland, where he lives with his wife on the outskirts of Glasgow. He can often be seen in St. Andrews, exploring local pubs and restaurants for inspiration for his next gruesome tale.
