About The Author

Steve Antony

Steve Antony is a multi-award-winning author-illustrator whose debut was in 2014. He has since written and illustrated 18 picture books, selling over one million copies worldwide. Seven of his titles have been nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal.

His Mr Panda series has sold over 1.6 million copies globally and was recently optioned for television by Magic Light Pictures. His critically acclaimed The Queen’s Hat, the first book in the Queen Collection, was adapted into a musical concert by the London Symphony Orchestra and received the Evening Standard’s Oscars Book Prize. A Shaun the Sheep statue inspired by The Queen’s Hat raised £15,000 for the Wallace and Gromit Children’s Charity.

Steve is actively involved in his local community, serving as Patron for Swindon Libraries Children’s Services, for whom he recently designed a library card. He is also an Ambassador for The National Literacy Trust, an active supporter of Beanstalk, and a strong advocate for greater incidental inclusiveness in children’s literature, having published several articles on the topic. Through his artwork, Steve has contributed to raising thousands of pounds for various UK charities, including My AFK, BookTrust, Willow Foundation, and Wallace and Gromit Children’s Charity.

Steve studied at Anglia Ruskin University after taking voluntary redundancy from a Swindon call centre. He was partly raised in New Mexico and currently resides in Swindon, UK, with his husband and cat.
