Critics Review
I love, love, LOVE Monster Doctor! Monster Doctor is my new favourite book, it’s hilarious, gross, spooky AND amazing. Filled with some of the weirdest, mostest grossest creatures you’ve ever seen, with a brilliant story threading them all together, and some really beautiful, innovative comic artwork throughout. Aaron’s a superstar, and Monster Doctor should be read by EVERYONE! * Jamie Smart, creator of Bunny vs Monkey *
“Guzzlingly Hilarious! This is such a cool, fast paced, colourful and really really funny graphic novel by the very talented Aaron Blecha, his style of illustration and comic writing is poppingly brilliant. Walter and his unusual gang go on a chaotic, monster mending journey to find Walter’s missing Uncle, the monsterologist, Weirdbeard! If you love monsters you’ll LOVE this book, there are also super quick puzzles as you read a long and some fab fact pages at the end to devour. I loved every minute of reading Monster Doctor and am now on tenterhooks to read the next one to see what happens next! ” * Beccy Blake, creator of CHICKEN HILL *
Aaron Blecha’s characters look fantastic on the outside and the inside (yes there are multiple drawings of the internal workings of various monsters in this book) and this story is a ridiculous delight to read. So many unhinged characters. So many ridiculous situations. Stupidly funny from beginning to end and there’s even puzzles in the mix too. What did we do to deserve such a brilliant comic? * Phil Corbett, creator of Ghost and Toast *
