About The Author
Angie Thomas
Rose Brock is a professor and educator at Sam Houston State University dedicated to fostering a love of reading in teenagers. Her expertise lies in building reader relationships through literature.
Beyond her academic career as a librarian and educator, Dr. Brock is actively involved in organizing the North Texas Teen Book Festival. This one-day event features sixty authors and draws an annual attendance of over 3,500 teens and tweens.
She also serves as a team leader for the International Literacy Association’s Young Adults’ Choices project, an initiative that empowers teens to read and select the best books of the year.
Dr. Brock has been recognized by the Texas Library Association with the Siddie Joe Johnson Award, presented by the Children’s Round Table to librarians demonstrating outstanding service to children.
