Joan Sweeney grew up in Toledo, Ohio, where she spent Saturday mornings taking free art classes at the Toledo Museum of Art. She was the author of Me on the Map and many other books. Joan had three grown-up children and five grandchildren. She passed away in March 2017.

Christine Gore is a designer and illustrator based in North West England. After graduating from Liverpool John Moores University with an honors degree, Christine began her career in the textile industry. Her passion for illustration ignited when her paints and sewing machine were eventually replaced by a computer.
