Inspired by Chinese mythology, this atmospheric and haunting dark fantasy asks what price you would pay for a second chance at life.

What They're Saying

Critics Review

Firstly, oh my goodness! These tropes for the story have me in a chokehold: Dark fantasy with a horror twist, Ghost girl and human boy, Slow-burn romance, Heavens vs hell, Murderous demon lords, and Wicked humour. Kasu and Arun’s dynamic duo vibes really pulls you in to this dark, depraved world where truths and lies are not what they seem. Finally, I adored stories steeped in Chinese mythology, and as a huge fan of Elizabeth Lim, Sue Lynn Tan and Axie Oh, do yourself a favour and put this one on your TBR list stat! * idreamofallthebooks via instagram *
I liked the premise of this book […] It was enjoyable to read the author’s creative ideas put into the book. * thebookreviewkid via instagram *

About The Author

Ann Sei Lin

Ann Sei Lin is a writer, librarian, and book nerd with a love for all things fantasy. She is the author of the Rebel Skies trilogy, for which she was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award and the Jhalak Children’s and YA Prize. Though Cambridge is now her home, she spent several years in Japan living in a rickety apartment block next to a railway station, where the rush of the midnight train would make the walls shake. When not writing, she is often studying, gaming, or trying to make that origami rabbit for the one hundredth time.
