Critics Review
Readers will eagerly pore over these illustrations, whose extra details, like a raindrop-spangled spider web, enrich a narrative that exudes enthusiasm for nature. A pleasing and informative exploration of a storm-drenched world.
—Kirkus Reviews
This book may inspire young scientists to look more closely at their neighborhood nature.
—Booklist
Spicer Rice’s exclamatory dialogue helps introduce scientific concepts including evaporation, puddling, and humidity. The narration’s focus on inference-based definition seems primed to prompt discussion and close examination of the jungle-like artwork, which consistently captivates, mingling flora and fauna for an immersive experience.
—Publishers Weekly
A strong choice for libraries needing books to support scientific nomenclature for young readers.
—School Library Journal
This delightful tour combines hands-on exploration with deeper knowledge of the world.
