About The Author
Lisa Dinhofer
Lisa Dinhofer, painter, draughtsman, and printmaker, was born in Brooklyn, New York. Her work has been exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally. Her most recent solo shows were at The Century Association (New York 2016), Denise Bibro Fine Art (New York 2012), and Purdue University (Indiana 2010).
Collected widely, Dinhofer’s paintings and works on paper are represented in many public and private collections, including The Brooklyn Museum, the New York Public Library, and City College (CUNY).
A recipient of numerous awards, she has received a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Individual Fellowship Grant and the MacDowell Colony Fellowship. Dinhofer’s work has been reviewed and profiled in several publications, including Arts Magazine, Art News, and Drawing Magazine. She has also written feature articles about drawing for Drawing Magazine.
Ms. Dinhofer is a graduate of the New York City Public School System. She received her BA, Magna Cum Laude with Honors, from Brandeis University and an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania.
Currently, Dinhofer is on the faculty of the Art Students League and The National Academy School in New York City. She also teaches a popular class for the online site, Craftsy.
In 2003, Lisa Dinhofer completed a 90-foot glass mosaic mural, Losing My Marbles, commissioned by MTA Arts for Transit. This public work is located at the Times Square–42nd Street subway station in New York City.
Lisa Dinhofer continues to live and work in New York City.
