What They're Saying

Critics Review

‘Sabatino’s monumental book completes the building’s resignification, in addition to providing a wealth of textual and graphic information on the design process, the not always easy relationship between the architect and the doctor (which led to a famous lawsuit), and the critical reception of the house.’– Arquitectura Viva

Winner of a Docomomo Modernism in America ‘Inventory/Survey Citation of Merit’ Award

‘The wide-ranging array of ephemera, photographs, and drawings—handsomely presented—will surely impress archive obsessed readers.’ –Architectural Record

‘The Edith Farnsworth House is as smart with the texts as it is generous with the images… . The book is a perfect introduction to the house for people who have no familiarity with it, but it is also a valuable addition to the library of architects who thought they knew everything there was to know about one of the most famous works of residential architecture, modern or otherwise.’ A Weekly Dose of Architecture

‘Buttressed by absolutely sterling photography … the book is a worthy read that sheds new light on the house.’ – Chicago Sun-Times

‘Celebrating 20 years as a public site, the Edith Farnsworth House has a rich story to tell about architecture and preservation.’ – ARCHITECT

‘Reveals that so much has been left out of this architectural icon’s most familiar narratives until now.’ – Design Miami
