Kabir Helminski
Kabir Helminski is the author of Living Presence: A Sufi Way to Mindfulness and the Essential Self. He has also translated numerous books of Sufi literature, particularly the works of Rumi.
Kabir, along with his wife Camille Helminski, is the codirector of the Threshold Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the knowledge and practice of Sufism. For twenty years, he served as the publisher of Threshold Books, playing a significant role in making Rumi the most widely read poet of our time. He is also recognized for his work as a producer and writer of Sufi music, with notable recordings including his own Garden within the Flames. Kabir is a representative of the Mevlevi tradition, founded by Jalaluddin Rumi.
Camille Helminski is the codirector, with her husband Kabir Helminski, of the Threshold Society of Santa Cruz, California. She holds honorary doctorates in Arabic from the University of Damascus and the World Union of Writers (Paris).
