What They're Saying
Critics Review
“The idea of a nature journal is not a new one and books such as this appear from time to time. Few, however, are as charming or well-presented; this is filled with ideas as well as Lara’s own record of the seasons….the artwork itself shines and inspires. If you like to draw and paint nature, make a bee-line for this.”
–The Art Book Review“Exquisite. This little book is a life changer. Break free from screens into something wild, something slow, something alive.”–Lulu Miller, Author of Why Fish Don’t Exist
“Lara has built a devoted following by modeling the mindful life her perpetual journal makes possible. This book is a work of art all its own, one that guides you to a deeper connection with the natural world through the practice of drawing and painting. Richly illustrated, there is no better inspiration and handbook for creating a living work of art.”–Carol Woodin, Artist & Author of Botanical Art Techniques
“This is a game changer. Lara Call Gastinger’s A Perpetual Journal Practice is the go to manual for keeping your own perpetual journal. Lara has explored this system of journaling so deeply that she anticipated all my doubts and questions to guide me along. I have heard of perpetual journaling but did not know how to start. Now, I get it! Even though I have a nature journaling practice, I can see the inherent value of this system. I am setting up my Perpetual Journal today!”–John Muir Laws, author of The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling
