Dominique Conil
Dominique Conil is a journalist who has spent over a decade reporting on Russia and the Aral Sea, as well as on prisons for the newspaper Libération. She is a regular collaborator with Michel Butel’s L’Autre Journal, and has also worked with L’événement du Jeudi, DS Magazine, and L’Humanité (for major reportages). Conil has also contributed to the program Cosmopolitaine on France Inter radio. In 2008, she received the Inedit Acts-Sud-Le Monde award for her novel Hope for the War, published by Actes Sud. She maintains a blog on the online daily Mediapart, where she has also served as a literary critic since 2011.
Alison L. Strayer is a Canadian writer and translator. Her work has received numerous accolades, including the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation. She has been shortlisted for the Governor General’s Award for Literature and for Translation, the Grand Prix du livre de Montréal, the Prix littéraire France-Québec, and the Man Booker International Prize. She resides in Paris.
