What They're Saying

Critics Review

“As Henna Pryor shows, the most dangerous thing a room can give you is the impression it’s still listening. Fortunately, The Signal Gap offers a framework for doing better — a set of smart, practical techniques for closing the distance between what we intend, what we actually convey, and what others eventually believe.” DANIEL H. PINK, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author of To Sell Is Human and Drive

The Signal Gap is a page-turner and a game-changer.” —ROBERT CIALDINI, Author of Influence and Pre-Suasion

“Henna Pryor can help us navigate a world filled with noise and mistrust. This book is profound and practical.” —SETH GODIN, Author of This Is Marketing

“We talk a lot about what stops people from speaking up, but not enough about what happens when they do and still aren’t believed. Henna Pryor takes the skepticism problem head-on, with research, humor, and real specificity about what to do differently. I’ll be coming back to this one.” —AMY GALLO, Author of Getting Along and Contributing Editor at Harvard Business Review

“When your being, doing, and saying are aligned, people know exactly what you stand for. When they aren’t, you’ve got a signal gap. This book will help you be believed, increase your influence, and make magic.” —MICHAEL BUNGAY STANIER, Author of The Coaching Habit

“Most leaders assume they’re coming across as they intend. Through data, stories, and hard-won insight, Henna Pryor makes a compelling case that this confidence is often misplaced. The Signal Gap will make you smarter and humbler—in all the right ways.” —TASHA EURICH, PhD, Organizational Psychologist and New York Times Bestselling Author of Shatterproof, Insight, and Bankable Leadership

“Trust used to be the byproduct of doing good work. Today, it’s the differentiator, and most professionals have no idea how quickly they’re losing it. Henna Pryor’s The Signal Gap is a smart, practical roadmap for closing that gap and building the kind of credibility that actually compounds over time.” —DORIE CLARK, Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author of The Long Game

“Trust on a team is built and destroyed in increments so small that nobody notices. The Signal Gap exposes those moments of truth. Henna Pryor has written a wildly fresh, evidence-backed book for anyone tired of wondering why their impact doesn’t match their intent.” —LIANE DAVEY, Author of Thoughtload and New York Times Bestseller You First

“I don’t know anyone who hasn’t tried to say one thing and had people take away something else — and not just a little different. Completely different. Henna Pryor gives us a name for that, the ‘signal gap,’ and shows us why, in an increasingly skeptical world, the price of one keeps going up. Bad news: you’ll start seeing signal gaps everywhere, especially your own. Good news: thanks to this book, you’ll also know exactly how to avoid the ones you can, and how to own and repair the ones you can’t.” —TAMSEN WEBSTER, Messaging Researcher, Strategist, and Author of Say What They Can’t Unhear

“I’ve spent years telling people that trust is the whole ballgame, but Henna Pryor has artfully zeroed in on the part everyone skips over: how trust actually gets built or blown in the tiny signals you don’t even know you’re sending. The Signal Gap is sharp, practical, and uncomfortable in the best possible way. It’ll change how you show up.” —JORDAN HARBINGER, Host of The Jordan Harbinger Show

“One question. Do you want to be believed? If so, read this brilliant book.” —SAM HORN, Author of POP! and Tongue Fu!, CEO of The Force for Good Project

“Change asks people to trust you before they have any evidence that they should. The Signal Gap shows you how to earn that trust in the smallest moments. This is the book for anyone leading people somewhere they’re scared to go.” —CASSANDRA WORTHY, Founder of Change Enthusiasm Global

“Every executive I know is wrestling with a trust challenge, whether they realize it or not. The Signal Gap puts a name to it and offers practical ways to close it. Henna Pryor shows why believability is now a measurable business asset, and hands you tools you can use on Monday morning.” —KYE MITCHELL, President of Experis US

“Today’s customers are more informed than ever before. Long before the conversation begins, they’ve already formed impressions about the person sitting across from them. Henna Pryor breaks down how credibility is built—or quietly eroded—through the small signals most of us overlook. It’s a book I’ll recommend not only to sales leaders, but to anyone who wants to lead with greater influence and believability.” —TERRANCE POWELL, Area Director of AstraZeneca Rare Disease

“I spent my career in an industry where trust isn’t a feeling — it’s measured, monitored, and audited. Henna Pryor understands what banking has always known: credibility is infrastructure. The Signal Gap shows you how to build yours before you need it.” —SANDI DAVIDSON, SVP, Head of Business Management & Governance, Financial Services

“Any leader who cares about sustained success needs this book. When you are tempted to choose safe, fast, or efficient rather than real, The Signal Gap will help you see that the consistency between what you say and what you signal is the true currency of leadership credibility and trust.” —KAREN WRIGHT, Founder of Parachute Executive Coaching and Author of The Complete Executive

“If you’ve ever delivered a written or spoken message that didn’t land, then you’ve experienced what workplace performance expert and author Henna Pryor calls the signal gap. In short, it’s the space between intention and perception. The Black Hole or Bermuda Triangle into which our best and most important ideas disappear … or worse. But lucky for us, Henna is here to help with her wonderful new book, The Signal Gap! Capturing and holding our attention from start to finish, she provides us with a wealth of insightful examples and valuable tips intended to help us improve our ‘signal integrity’ and enhance our ability to impact and influence others with greater confidence and skill.” —TODD CHERCHES, Executive coach and Author of VisuaLeadership
