Mohammad Awad (Author)

Mohammad Awad is a Queer/Arab/Muslim, Writer/Director/Poet/Playwright and Mental Health Advocate who’s running out of ways to express himself. He has written and directed short films such as The Flower, The Messenger, and Beauty Marks.

Published in an anthology series Arab, Australian, Other as well as The University of Sydney student anthology Diversity, he is also one of the proud editors and authors of the new Mental Health collection Admissions.

He is a well-known spoken word poet, being featured in The Daily Telegraph, ABC, and SBS, as a NSW State finalist in the Australian Poetry Slam and honoured as Australia’s National Youth Poetry Champion. He has featured in the Sydney Writers Festival, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Mardi Gras and World Pride, and in the Art Gallery of NSW, to name just a few of his many events.

Nina Nill (Illustrator)

Nina Nill is a children’s book illustrator based in Queensland, Australia. She has been illustrating for over a decade and is passionate about creating heartfelt stories for children. She uses both digital and traditional media and renders her illustrations in a soft and textured style. She finds inspiration in the everyday moments, turning the mundane into something special. When she’s not illustrating, you can find her absorbed in her many hobbies or relaxing with a cup of coffee and a good documentary.
