Critics Review

I loved how the story, almost subconsciously, tackled more than one issue underneath its outer layer

I loved how the story, almost subconsciously, tackled more than one issue underneath its outer layer - GUARDIAN CHILDREN’S BOOKS

This book has echoes of Cormac McCarthy’s The Road and in many ways, although clearly aimed at the teenage market, is as compelling as an adult read. Written in a simple, almost matter-of-fact style which fits the subject matter very well and with a satisfying ending, it’s a very believable story and an excellent debut for Tania Unsworth. - WE LOVE THIS BOOK

Wonderfully original, a little sinister, this debut is a cracker - THE SUN

… an unputdownable read that had me gripped from the opening scene, and ultimately left me feeling grateful that this dystopia is a fictional one - THE BOOKBAG
