What They're Saying

Critics Review

‘Inspiral Carpets are true pioneers and, as a musician, DJ, music fan and a brilliant storyteller, Clint has been there to see it all first-hand. He’s part of the fabric that makes the story of Manchester, music, and beyond.’ – TIM BURGESS * The Charlatans *
‘I am so delighted that the Gentleman of Manchester Music has decided to tell us all his secrets! Clint knows it all, has done it all, and along the way has amazed us all with his loyalty, his friendship, his ‘Joie De Vivre’ and his own wonderful music. I thank God for the many, many lessons he has taught me, and to be part of his family is such an honour. Good luck mate XX’ – PETER HOOK * New Order *

‘This is the greatest rock and roll book ever written. Funny, touching and fascinating. Clint the trail blazer, facilitator and now chronicler. Is there no end to the man’s talents?’

– GUY GARVEY * Elbow *
‘There isn’t one other single person that’s EVER existed in Greater Manchester called ‘Clint’. That is a fact.’ – NOEL GALLAGHER * Oasis *
‘Clint writes like he speaks and plays; as one who knows.’ – JOHNNY MARR * The Smiths *

‘The Manchester Chroniclesis funny, affectionate and packed with the kind of detail that comes from actually having been there. More importantly, it captures Manchester music as a continuing community rather than a sequence of museum-piece eras. A hugely enjoyable trip through thirty extraordinary years of music, madness and mayhem.’

* Louder Than War *
’[there are] many excellent stories in Boon’s new memoirThe Manchester Chronicles.Reading the book, one gets the sense that there isn’t a major Manchester music figure or band that Boon has not encountered or encouraged.’ – Safraz Manzoor * iPaper *
‘A full-throated celebration of not just the music, but the great city Boon calls home. Manchester.’ * The Arts Desk *
