About The Author

Marly Wells

Linda Wells is a teacher and author. Originally from Melbourne, she has lived in Central Australia for many years. She has a PhD in creative, post-colonial approaches to telling Australia’s history. Linda was awarded the Northern Territory Chief Minister’s Book Award for non-fiction in 2024 for Living in Tin: The Bungalow Alice Springs 1914 - 1929. She and her daughter Marly won the Daisy Utemorrah award in 2024 for Desert Tracks.
