Hilarie Lindsay is a distinguished author with a prolific career spanning over twenty books. Her works encompass a diverse range of genres, including short stories, poetry, fiction, children’s literature, non-fiction, and a full-length play.
Lindsay’s literary journey began with her winning The Grenfell Prose award in both 1966 and 1967, leading to her first published work in The Grenfell Record.
She is a past president of the Society of Women Writers and has been recognized for her significant contributions to literature with an MBE in 1975 and an OAM in 2006.
In addition to her writing, Hilarie Lindsay managed her family’s toy company, A.L Lindsay & Co, in Leichhardt, Sydney, for over 40 years. She also holds the distinction of being the first woman president of the Toy & Games Manufacturers of Australia.
