What They're Saying
Critics Review
“The easygoing, often humorous voice in his essays … offers just the kind of gentle reassurance that invites in gardeners of all levels of experience.”—Gardenista “Orr celebrates the joyful and transformative power of gardening, whether in a tight rooftop space or a sprawling yard. Throughout, he also offers practical lessons in cultivating your own green thumb.”—Southern Living“The book is worth picking up for the photos alone!”—Real Simple “There is a small but vital shelf of garden writers who teach you not what to plant, but how to think—Vita Sackville-West, Elizabeth Lawrence, Henry Mitchell. Orr belongs in that company… . The photography is generous. Together, words and images give the reader something increasingly rare in garden books: genuine ideas, and the confidence to use them.”—American Gardener“Beautiful musings, tips and advice on gardening.”—Women’s World“For when [Mom] wants to slow down, but needs a reason to do it. This is the kind of book she’ll pick up, read a few pages of, and always keep on the nightstand.”—Camille Styles
