Critics Review
“Pring offers a postapocalyptic down-to-earth space opera, set in a world where megacorps act like governments, only more rapacious. The story centers on a found family of misfit operators and reads like Murderbot’s world set in Firefly’s universe, filled with the deep, deadly secrets of John Scalzi’s Old Man’s War….Readers will be on the edge of their seats for this wild ride.”
—Library Journal
“With furious and unrelenting action that takes place across a near-future American West and includes eccentric folks wary of the powers that be, the story builds to a crescendo of violence, twists, and betrayal that propels the story to a satisfying ending that promises future installments. Fans of James A. Corey’s The Expanse series will find a resemblance in both the physical stature and attitude of Corporal Cole to Bobbie Draper. This fast-paced debut includes plenty of action, snappy dialogue, and memorable characters and will appeal to readers of John Scalzi.”
—Booklist
“This may not be the future we want, but it feels right, which is sort of terrifying, sort of exciting, and, in Perrin Pring’s hands, nothing short of spectacular.”
—Stephen Graham Jones, New York Times bestselling author of The Only Good Indians
“Cash and Gravity is in a category of its own—-a near-future Western that is as imaginative as it is grounded. In her debut, Perrin Pring ushers in one of the most badass main characters in recent memory. This is the work of a major new talent with a rare voice & style, whose prose is filled with realistic grit as well as well-crafted, cinematic violence. A thrill ride from start to finish.”
—Ivy Pochoda, New York Times bestselling author of Sing Her Down
“WARNING: Sparks fly off these pages. Strap on your helmet and hold your breath! Cash and Gravity is a confident debut packed with excitement and ingenuity–Perrin Pring lands a haymaker.”
—Daniel Nieh, author of Take No Names
