About The Author

A.J. Hill

A. J. Hill was educated at Sydney Grammar School, the University of Sydney and Ballot College, Oxford. He was commissioned in the C.M.F. in 1936. He served in World War II in the Middle East (at the Defence of Tobruk, and El Alamein), New Guinea and Borneo. After the war he taught history and geography at Sydney Grammar School, later becoming senior history master. He was a senior lecturer in the faculty of military studies at the Royal Military College, Duntroon.
