About The Author

Breanna J. McDaniel

Breanna J. McDaniel is an African-American children’s book author from Georgia. Her previous title Hands Up! was recognized by the Chicago Public Library as Best Picture Book for Kids from birth to 3rd grade in 2019. Her latest picture book release was an in-house debut for Cute Toot, with her prior title Go Forth and Tell: The Life of Augusta Baker from Dial Books earning her a five-starred review. Breanna spends her free time as an activist, where she promotes different types of literacy for families across the country.

Savanna Durr is an illustrator based in Richmond, VA. She has always had a love for art and has spent her life being inspired by animated movies, cartoons, and children’s books. She focuses on creating representation within her work in the hope that others can look at her art and see themselves.
