Brenda Davis, R.D.
Brenda Davis, RD is a world-renowned expert in plant-based nutrition and an award-winning author with over 800,000 books sold worldwide. She has been called “The Godmother of Vegan Dieticians” by Veg News. Davis has been a featured speaker at medical and nutrition conferences in over twenty countries on five continents. She is a past chair of the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has been promoting plant-based diets since making the transition herself in 1989. Her personal and professional life goals are one and the same; to make this world a kinder, more compassionate place. Davis’s work focuses on ensuring that everyone who wishes to be vegetarian or vegan can succeed brilliantly. In 2007, Brenda Davis was inducted into the Vegetarian Hall of Fame.
Vesanto Melina, MS, RD has taught nutrition at the University of British Columbia and at Seattle’s Bastyr University. She is lead author of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics latest position paper on vegetarian diets. She has received a Lifetime Achievement Award in the United States and the Ryley Jeffs Memorial Award in Canada.
Charlyn Black, MD, ScD is an internationally recognized researcher in the area of health and healthcare policy. She served as senior advisor to the president of the Canadian Institutes for Health Research. She has played leadership roles in medical and graduate level education throughout her career with a focus on improving the quality and effectiveness of health care. Her current research focuses on advancing the impact of food as medicine to prevent and reverse chronic disease.
