BRIAN KEVIN has written about travel, adventure, and culture for Outside, Sierra, Audubon, Afar, Mother Jones, and the Fodor’s series of travel guidebooks. He received a 2010 Lowell Thomas Award from the Society of American Travel Writers, and his work has been recognized in the Best American Essays and Best American Sports Writing anthologies. A graduate of the University of Montana’s MFA program in creative nonfiction, he currently lives in rural Maine.
