About The Author

Charles H. Spurgeon

Charles H. Spurgeon (1834-1892) was a British Baptist preacher, widely known as the “Prince of Preachers.” He delivered his first sermon in 1851 at the age of 16 and became a pastor in 1852. Spurgeon published over 1,900 sermons and spoke to an estimated 10,000,000 people during his lifetime. He was also a prolific author, producing works such as an autobiography, commentaries, books on prayer, devotional writings, a magazine, poetry, and hymns. Many of his sermons were transcribed as he preached and have since been translated into numerous languages. It is often argued that no other author, Christian or otherwise, has had more material published than C.H. Spurgeon.
