J’adore Monsieur Mustard! Such a lovable, braggadocious souris and main character. The storytelling is innovative and fresh and I loved the specificity of the characters’ quirks. The illustrations are exquisite (how can a page that is mostly falling coins look so nice?!) and there is such a sense of innovation and play on every page. Inspired by simple shapes and stories found in everyday life, Charley Rabbit works with a combination of acrylic, ink and coloured pencils. When she isn’t sitting at her desk in her attic studio, she can be found playing Irish fiddle music, listening to true crime podcasts and dreaming of one day visiting Japan.
